think this anniversary blog might be the thing for me. a month, a month, what's in a month?

independence day in philly was stunning, with garth brooks in attendence, weirdly enough. a little taste of home. mike's parent's visited, brought me some of my moose crunch popcorn, had a feast in amish country, and celebrated mike's 30th birthday a month early.

i lost a bet. was thrilled to discover that big league chew is alive and well, and though hard to find, is available, at least, in an albertson's in eugene, oregon. besides buying gum, went to the oregon country fair in eugene.

back in philly, collapsed from exhaustion as is my habit upon return. currently in town are mcsweeneyfest and a curious adventure organised by ford motor co. hope it will get me geared up for the upcoming x games, which i will tell you all about on my next anniversary blog.

we thought barkley was dead last weekend. the screen was loose when we left and when we came back we couldn't find him. luckily (??) there was a dead cat on the road outside that looked just like him. we brought the dead cat home but then we found barkley. then we had our cat and a spare, dead one, that looked just like him.

just had my annual review. that means i've had a job for a year. am off on holiday starting next friday. happy birthday to lana.
