Congress Adds 'All Your Base Are Belong To Us' Amendment To Bankruptcy Bill

WASHINGTON, DC-- Seeking to increase fiscal accountability among citizens who have no chance to survive make their time, the House of Representatives added an "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" amendment Monday to H.R. 333, the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2001. "What you say!!!" shouted the bill's sponsor, Rep. George Gekas (R-PA), following the amendment's approval. unc goes out of the ncaa like a bitch to penn state! and since i am living in pennsylvania just now my life will be all the more miserable because of it. my bracket is in shambles! and my rights to carlos are in jeapordy after his miserable performance in rotorua this weekend - fraser has got me involved in some pool where i have promised to put up (win the pool) or shut up (about my mooshy mallow man) and i'm starting to worry a bit.

as recently as january 23, philadelphia was held up as a model of how faith-based charity could work nationwide. in this mornings paper, it is reported that the philly pastor named to run the city's faith-based programs was completely useless at the job and was relieved of his duties in may - although he did continue to draw his $96,000 per annum salary until this week, when he was charged with theft. this disturbs me on so many levels.

it's snowing.

looks like yet another snowstorm predicted for the next few days. it will be the first snow day that i'm actually around for yet!

in other news - surprise! - i'm gonna complain. last week united airlines dicked me over twice. first, i had to sit in the airport at lax for 8 hours while four shuttle flights in a row got cancelled before they finally managed to get me to san francisco at 1am. then, the very next night, my flight from san francisco to philly was totally cancelled, leaving me to spend an extra night there. today, i got a crummy letter from united saying sorry. that's it. sorry, premier customer. too bad. no miles bonus, no upgrade on my next flight, nothing. at least i got to stay in a nice hotel in sf.

since i've been sick i've been taking this cough medicine that has made waking up in the morning almost impossible. last night i didn't take any and waking up was still impossible this morning. and, since i didn't take the medicine, i'm coughing. bad luck all the way round.
