holy hell! just woke up

holy hell! just woke up to see boguns in south philly rioting and bashing through windows in a bizarre mardi gras celebration. hadn't realised fat tuesday would be such a hoohaw here in the city of brotherly love. maybe they are all giving up criminal behavior for lent. channel six was on the scene, and showed (repeatedly) tape of crowds stomping in the windows of a car just before it sped right over them in a getaway worthy of a fox "world's best" special. new orleans wishes it could be this scary!

in other news, police in

in other news, police in chester county are searching for a man who, they believe, has planted a series of bombs in area schools. staff profilers believe the man may have longstanding hate issues after being teased as a child. local yokels are understandably nervous.

"George Bush says he's for

"George Bush says he's for election reform," challenged new DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe, "Reform this: I say, park the state police cars, take down the roadblocks, stop asking people of color for multiple forms of ID, print readable ballots, open the polling places, count all the votes, and start practicing democracy in America again."

have just been quietly becoming

have just been quietly becoming accustomed to living in a country where george w. bush could actually be elected (well...) president. i'm sure i don't have to recount the appointment of hateful bigot john ashcroft as u.s attorney general or the proposal to funnel my money into faith-based organizations. this is his idea of "find common ground and build consensus"? i guess it should be no surprise coming from a guy who launched his bid to restore integrity to the white house by hiding a dui and stealing an election. still, it's all a bit hard to believe.
